BOOK CLUBS
Read a book and see the world! Girl Scout book clubs promote a general love for reading that broadens girls’ outlooks and encourages them to articulate their thoughts and opinions in a safe and nurturing environment. In Girl Scouting, literacy also encompasses writing, communicating with others, and processing ideas – all of which impact a girl’s success. Through book discussions and related activities, such as games and crafts, girls create a culture of collaboration and teamwork, become more comfortable considering different ideas, gain a richer perspective about their world, and feel empowered to advocate and speak out to make a difference. Girls of all ages can participate in programs and activities like Book, Writing for Real, and Express It and participate in Girl Scout Book Club activities.
