WATER SPORTS

Being so close to the coast, it’s natural for Orange County girls to want to get into the water and have some fun in the sun with their girlfriends.

Girls can learn the basics and beyond of kayaking, rowing, canoeing, sailing, swimming, surfing, and more, and have fun earning age-appropriate awards like the Water Fun Badge and the BXstreme Interest Project. Girl Scouts in grades 9 – 12 love to exhibit their marine skills at the annual GAM weekend event, a showcase for girls’ boating and nautical knowledge. Whether they prefer poolside or seaside, girls will learn water skills they can enjoy their entire lives at water-oriented camp sessions at Camp Scherman; classes like Basic and Intermediate Kayaking; High Adventure Teens group events and more.
