Your gifts help almost 25,000 Orange County Girl Scouts, from all walks of life, build the values, skills and abilities necessary for success in the 21st century. Philanthropic support from community members, families and businesses is the only way to ensure that critical, healthy and constructive Girl Scout programs continue to be available to Orange County's girls.
Your support makes a difference!
- 25,000 Girl Scouts made a dramatic difference in Orange County by contributing more than 500,000 hours of service each year in their neighborhoods and communities.
- 143 Girl Scouts earned the presigious Girl Scout Gold Award in 2009 demonstrating outstanding leadership abilities and personal commitment to contribute a combined total of nearly 11,500 service hours to projects that impacted community issues.
- Our Comadres en Accion outreach troops served over 600 girls in low-income neighborhoods providing educational, leadership and personal development activities.
- Direct financial assistance for 1,678 girls helped fund their participation in Girl Scout program activities.
It's no secret that Girl Scouts do great things, and Girl Scouting does great things for girls. While the Girl Scout cookie program continues to be the best business skills development program for girls, proceeds are not at all sufficient to fully support Girl Scouting in Orange County. Lack of funding means that only 1 in 10 Orange County girls are able to be Girl Scouts. Our council spends more than $322 per Girl Scout each year. So we need your help. Every gift matters. And whether you send $25 or $2,500, your contribution will have an impact beyond what cookies can do.
